School Council
The Totley All Saints School Council is group of children who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve our school.
Our school council is made up of 2 children from each year group, one boy and one girl, who are elected by their classmates.
The jobs of the School Council are to help make decisions in school (such as Merit Team treats) and to be voice of the children by representing the views of all pupils. They are responsible for carrying out the ideas and actions that they have agreed upon.
The School Council meets with Mrs Brown every couple of weeks to discuss issues and make decisions. These may include such things as: improvements to school and play times, ideas for charity fundraising days and interviewing new members of staff.
To be an effective group, each child has a different role in the council. We have a Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity officers and Class Representatives. They all have different jobs to do and have to work together as a team in order to get things done.
The School Council is an exciting and meaningful part of school and the children who are elected are very proud of their responsibilities. Our School Council does a fantastic job and we are very proud of our children that take part!

The School Council have been involved in making a lot of improvements to school, including: acquiring new benches and bins on the yard, wellies for the Woodland Workshop, changing the reception outdoor area and indoor office area, having raffle tickets at lunch times, employing new teaching staff and reviewing the new lunchtime menu each year.
Every half term, they also get to choose three options for the Merit Treat that the Merit Teams then get to vote on to decide on which treat they would like as a reward.
The School Council is also instrumental in the production of the TASS Top Ten leaflet whereby they ask everyone what they like best about the school, take in the votes and then produce a final ranking. To see our current leaflet, please click below.
